About
David Buckley of Datchet
David Buckley is a Datchet businessman and local councillor. He represents Datchet, Horton & Wraysbury on the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and chairs Datchet Parish Council.
A Datchet resident and local businessman
David and his wife moved to Datchet in 2013 and made the village their full-time home. They run their businesses from here. Datchet is where David lives, works and spends his money, so local decisions affect him as they affect every other resident.
He joined Datchet Parish Council to help maintain and improve the village for both residents and businesses, and to keep living standards high for everyone who lives here.
On the parish council
David has been the parish council's lead member for Planning since late 2020. He introduced a new process for reporting on planning applications, so councillors and residents can see clearly what is proposed in the village and how the council has responded. In May 2025 fellow councillors elected him Chairman of Datchet Parish Council.
He also serves on the parish council's:
- Finance Committee (Vice-Chair)
- Staffing Committee
- LAMP Committee
On the Royal Borough
In May 2023 voters in Datchet, Horton & Wraysbury elected David to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead with 1,071 votes. From 2020 to 2023 he led The Borough First Independents, a group of independent candidates who argued that residents, not party machines, should come first. In 2025 he joined Reform UK.
The borough has appointed him to represent it on:
- Flood Liaison Group
- Heathrow Community Engagement Board
- Tourism South East
For a village on the Thames under the Heathrow flight path, flooding and the airport matter more than most issues, and these appointments put David at the table for both.
